Celebrity manicurist, Nausil Zaheer celebrated the grand opening of his Karma Organic Spa, October 15, 2007, located at 32 Wilsey Square in Ridgewood New Jersey 07450. The result of a lifelong dream, Nausil’s Spa is a 985 square foot sanctuary, a quiet place for customers to enjoy relief from the excitement of urban life. A water system mitigates distracting noises and adds to the earth-conscious decor of the spa. Everything in the spa is organic, recycled and energy efficient. The furniture is made of all recycled materials, so are the pedicure bowls and towels. The manicure bowls are made of bamboo and the slippers are biodegradable. Proceeds from the pink gloves that technicians use go to breast cancer research. The green design also boasts of bamboo floors, an antique copper ceiling adds to the ambiance, and the walls were painted with non-toxic paint. However, the spa’s focus on luxury is translated in more than just the atmosphere. Karma Organic Spa offers a high level of customer service, a clean facility, and experienced technicians.

Concerned with the health of his clients, Nausil has chosen to use nail polish that is free of the toxins (DBP) Phthalate, Toluene and Formaldehyde. These toxins are found in many high profile nail lacquers. Nausil believes that having the right team and adhering to good business values will support this aim. Spa nail technicians use pure essential oils, Ayurvedic, Indian, Italian and other fine herbs from all over the world; real organic mango, strawberries, raspberries and other delightful organics; pure shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, tea tree oil and jojoba oil and more. Each technician is trained under the watchful eye of Nausil. Utilizing his years of skill and formulations, they mix the finest quality items from nature to create unique skin care products that luxuriously soothe, moisturize and heal dry, irritated skin along with nutritional supplements that support and maintain skin health while imparting anti-oxidant benefits.

Mr. Zaheer is forming a Karma Organic Green Committee. They will be holding fundraising events concentrating on new ideas and innovative ways to raise staff and guest awareness of various green initiatives, such as recycling (ink cartridges, batteries, plastic and cork caps, glass, paper, magazines, plastic, and aluminum) and energy reductions (saving water and electricity). Interested parties may phone the salon at 201.857.5300.
